Moss Ledge is a privately-owned 26 acre great camp on Upper Saranac Lake. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upper_Saranac_Lake
There are five buildings at Moss Ledge – three have been restored: Redfield, Coulter and Adams. The new cabin, Roosevelt, sits above the lake and is the only building with heat. We completed construction of Roosevelt in 2023 and it is built in the original Coulter design (a "new-old" building).
In 2018, Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) awarded its Adirondack Preservation Award to the Lincolns for the restoration and rehabilitation of the historic camp.
There is a path the runs along the lake in front of the buildings the runs to the end of our property -- the path will take you to a gazebo that sits right on the water (about 1/3 of a mile from the main buildings). The gazebo was the site of a "tea house" built by Isabelle Ballantine.
Along the lakefront, you will pass our docks; the Ballantine building (built by Syracuse in the 1950s as an art studio); the cove where we keep the jet skis; a sand volleyball court; an open-air Chapel (see the sign for Chapel Hill); and a lean-to.
We have three boats – a Cobalt, a vintage Chris Craft wooden boat and a new Boston Whaler boat that is smaller and easier to use. We have three jet skis. The closest place to get gas is around the corner and is called Donaldson’s. If you are facing the lake from our property, go left toward the Point Resort. When you get to the large opening / bay, you turn toward your left and you will see an old stone boat house (in front of a trailer park). The gas pump is right there and you just need a credit card.
We have tubes, banana boats, water skis and wake boards.
Ampersand Mountain sits right across the water from the main fire pit. There are starter logs in the cast iron pot by the fireplace in Redfield. There is a stack of firewood by the fire pit and even more wood in the shed behind Redfield and Adams.
The volleyball for the sand volleyball court is in Ballantine, along with rakes for the court.
We have six e-bikes. The helmets, locks and chargers are in the storage room behind Redifield.
Popular rock island at the North end of the lake -- https://usfoundation.net/tommys-rock/
Popular place for boaters to congregate most afternoons. Heading North toward Tommy's Rock, the sand bar is on the right in the undeveloped Square Bay.
Across the lake from the Point Resort, there is a popular rope swing on the left toward Saginaw Bay.
The Moss Ledge loop is a marked hike on our property that is just under one mile.
Swim from Moss Ledge to Eagle Island and back to get your name on one of the paddles in Coulter. Just remember to have a spotter join you in a kayak.
We continue an Adirondack tradition - in addition to the Eagle Island swim, get your name added to one of the paddles in Coulter by completing the hikes above: Tupper Lake Triad, Saranac Lake 6er, Lake Placid 9er.
